PP424 - A Color Challenge from Anne Marie

Hello there, stamping friends!

Anne Marie here and I am super-excited to be hosting our Color Challenge this week! I don’t know about you, but right after the New Year, I am always excited to use bright and cheery color combos. It’s a good distraction from winter blues. Although it’s not really “winter” here in South Texas, I know a lot of you are wishing the snow would melt where you are. I hope these colors inspire you to create something pretty, no matter where you live.
I love this trio of colors and I hope you do as well. We are ALL excited to see what you choose as your additional “color of choice” to jazz it up. Have FUN with it!

Let’s have a look at what the Design Team has created for some inspiration this week:

Challenge Rules:
  1. Create a new paper-craft project specifically for this challenge.
  2. Upload your creation to your blog with a link back to us.
  3. Please provide a direct link to the post featuring your challenge entry.
  4. Please link your card to no more than four challenges, TOTAL, including ours
  5. Please be considerate of our requests; entries that do not follow any of these rules will be deleted without notification.
  6. Have fun, and thank you for playing with us!

PP423 - Challenge Winners

Hello, stampers!  It's Ann here, thanking all of you who played along with our first challenge of the New Year. You brightened the gallery with a wonderful and varied collection of critters who brought smiles to our faces. All of you definitely rocked the challenge!

Before we get to my choice for Headliner, let's see what caught the eye of the Design Team this week.

And now for our Headliner:

Linda Callahan
Stampin' Seasons

In a gallery filled with wonderful cards, Linda's card caught my eye. The soft and subtle colors! The clean layout! The texture of the embossed background! The trio of sequins adding just the right amount of sparkle! All of the elements of Linda's card combined to create a masterpiece that is perfect in every way, and one which will surely brighten the day of whomever receives it.  Congratulations, Linda, on being my choice for Headliner

Thank you again to everyone for playing along with us for our first challenge of 2019. Congratulations to all our winners! Please pick up your badges here. And don't forget to  come back tomorrow for a fabulous color challenge from Anne Marie.

Happy New Year From The Paper Players and Guest Designer Announcement

Happy new year wishes from all of us at The Paper Players! We will be starting our new round of challenges for 2019 this coming Sunday but in advance of this would like to introduce you to the first two wonderful guest designers that will be joining us this year: Su Mohr and Wanda Cullen.

In their own words, here's a little more information about each of them to help you get to know them better:

Su Mohr

Hi there!

I'm Su (without an "e"). I was introduced to Stampin' Up! in Nov. 2015 as a way to make a recipe book for my essential oil business. I put the two together to come up with my blog name, Aromas And Art. This wonderful card making grew to a re-birth of creativity I'd been missing in my life. I love designing cards, blogging, and communicating with my new crafting friends.

When I'm not busy in my craft room, or blogging, I enjoy being outdoors, in sunny San Diego, playing tennis.

I am blessed to be married to Neil, and have two, married daughters, and a grandson. And, I can't forget to mention our talking dog, Simba.

I've been participating in the Paper Players challenges for over a year, and I'm thrilled to be part of the Design Team.

Wanda Cullen

I’m a long time stamper – 21 years to be exact – and am thrilled to be joining the design team here at The Paper Players!  I’m a retired registered nurse who formerly worked 42 years at a comprehensive rehabilitation center and previously worked a couple of years as a surgical floor nurse immediately after graduation.  We are empty nesters who currently enjoy spoiling our three (soon to be four) grandchildren.  We live in the beautiful Shenandoah Valley of Virginia though I grew up in a small town in northeastern Ohio.  I’m an avid college football fan and still root for the Ohio State Buckeyes in addition to Va Tech (go Hokies)! My card making style is typically clean and layered with lots of florals and you will soon note that I love puns as evidenced by my blog name - Cullen-ary Creations.  I hope to inspire you with my card creations and with my positivity that is my goal while currently fighting a breast cancer diagnosis! If attitudes are contagious, I hope you will “catch” my positive outlook!

These ladies are outstanding design talents and we are thrilled that they have agreed to work with us and inspire you with their creative takes on our challenge each week.

Join us on Sunday for our first challenge of the year when we will have a theme challenge hosted by the lovely Ann Schach.

PP422 Challenge Winners and Holiday Break

Hi everyone, Joanne here! Thank you to all who played along with my colour challenge this week. We know this is a busy, busy time of year for everyone and we appreciate you taking the time to play along.  Before we get to my choice for Headliner, let's see what caught the eye of the Design Team this week.

And now for our Headliner:

Stef Perry - Perry Papercrafts

I loved the mix of traditional festive colours in the gallery this week and Stef's exquisitely coloured pine cone ornament caught my eye immediately. The soft brown of the pinecone complimented the red and green perfectly and the stitched frame detail and wonderfully glossy berries elevated this realistic-looking image to a whole new level. Congratulations Stef on being my headliner this week!

Thank you again to everyone for playing along with us in this our last challenge of 2018. Congratulations to all our winners, please pick up your badges here.

As the year ends, it is time for us to say goodbye to our current trio of guest designers, Jan Clothier, Elizabeth Stewart and Annie Abrahamson. On behalf of the entire Paper Players team, I would like to thank you for your wonderful contributions and creative endeavours this year. We will miss you all dearly and look forward to continuing to follow you via your blogs as you continue on your creative journeys. Our valued team member, the wonderful Sandy Mathis, is also taking some time out to focus on other commitments, so will not be creating with us as we move into the new year. She is planning to return at some point in the future so in the meantime we would also like to wish her well until she is back with us.

We are taking a short break to enjoy the festive season with our families and will be back with our first challenge of 2019 on Sunday 6th January, with an announcement of our new Guest Designers shortly before. Merry Christmas wishes to you all and thank you for playing along with The Paper Players in 2018.

PP421 Challenge Winners

Hi Everyone.

Thank you to all of you who played along this week.  It was a wonderful - and varied - gallery
and you made it very hard for our design team to choose their winners.

Before we get to my choice for Headliner, let's see what caught the eye of the Design Team this week.

And now for our Headliner:

Ishani
Quillish

Ishani's card is absolute CAS perfection.  Her wonderfully detailed and textured snowman is totally the centerpiece of this card.  His whimsical appeal draws you in and then forces you to admire all of the wonderful detail.  Congratulations, Ishani, on being my HEADLINER this week.

Thank you again to everyone for playing along with us.  Congratulations to all our winners, please pick up your badges here.  Come back tomorrow for a seasonal colour challenge from Joanne!
