Welcome 2023 Guest Designers

Hello, Stampers! This year has flown by!  Sadly, we have to say goodbye to our 2022 Guest Designers.  As mentioned in yesterday's post, Cindy, Christy and Jennie have wowed us with their creativity! Week after week, they shared their talent and creations with us.  Ladies, we were so happy to be able to create with you!  We also are bidding farewell to long-time design team member, Laurie Schmidt. Laurie's designs were well-known for their clean vibe and fabulous die cuts. Laurie, we wish you nothing but the best and wonderful family time with the grands! Hugs!

BUT, don't be sad! Starting January 8, 2023, we'll have a new trio of Guest Designers to inspire us weekly: Suzy, Fran, and Tara!  We know you have seen their amazing work in the gallery. Now, it's time to learn a little more about each of them.

Hi, I'm Suzy Hinton from the Pacific Northwest (PNW). I have two grown children and two adorable granddaughters. I am fortunate to live just two blocks from the grands. The oldest, who is three, also loves to stamp and do crafts. When I am not playing with the littles or stamping, you can find me knitting or reading. Oh, and in my "free" time, I am a substitute teacher.

I have been a stamper and paper crafter for nearly 30 years. I got started while being a stay-at-home mom, with two littles at home. I remember my first project was a very simple Christmas card that I sent to family and friends. I have made Christmas cards every year since, except one.

I did my first card challenge almost 2 years ago. Now, I am hooked! I especially like the challenges that force me to stretch my creative muscles. I also love the sharing of ideas and techniques. I have learned so much. I am so honored to be asked to be a Guest Designer with The Paper Players. I look forward to working with this talented group of stampers.

Hi, I’m Fran Wing. I live in the beautiful Rogue Valley of southern Oregon, where I share home with my husband and (at the moment) 7 cats – YIKES! I’m quickly becoming “the little old cat lady”.  We have 4 permanent cats and are temporarily fostering 3 more.  It’s pretty sad that I would tell you about the cats before mentioning that my son and his wife, who live nearby, have gifted us with three grandchildren (a pair of 13-year-old fraternal twins and their 8-year-old sister) and a grand dog.  When I’m not cleaning cat boxes, you’ll find me in my craft room/office either working part time as a commercial interior designer or making cards.  I’ve been creating greeting cards in one form or another for most of my life. I can’t remember when I wasn’t fascinated by paper, but the stamping didn’t start until about 20 years ago. My preferred style is CAS, but I enjoy pushing the limits of CAS with embellishments and layers. I love participating in design challenges because they’re such a good source of inspiration – we spark each other, and the ideas are limitless. You’ll find me also serving on the Design Team over at Two Old Bats Halloween Challenge. I’m looking forward with delight to 2023 and further inspiration as one of the Guest Designers, participating with the wonderful designers at The Paper Players!

Hi!  I am Tara Carpenter.  I live in Mid-Missouri with my husband, Tim.  We have 2 children, one in college and one headed that way sooner than I would like to admit.  I have been a lifelong crafter that started paper crafting about 15 years ago when I received a gift card to a local scrapbook store.  I scrapbooked for several years, but the first time I inked up a stamp... well, I was hooked!  I love the joy of giving a hand-crafted card to someone.  I call my crafting "Tara Time" and it is vital for my sanity.  I have made some many amazing friends and met some amazing people through paper crafting.  I was overwhelmed and shocked when I was asked to be a Guest Designer. I cannot wait to play along each week with some amazing challenges!

Welcome to the team, Suzy, Fran and Tara!

Be sure to join us on January 8, 2023 for our first challenge of the new year!

PP621 Challenge Winners

Hello, Stampers! It's Ann! Thank you to everyone who played in our color challenge this week. The gallery was filled with so many creative designs. As always, your entries were delightful. The Paper Players would also like to thank everyone who supported us this past year by playing in our challenges. We truly appreciate you. Before we announce this week's winners, it's time to bid a fond farewell to our 2022 Guest Designers: Cindy Beach, Christy Stanford, and Jennie Maier. These three talented designers have inspired us week after week with their beautiful creations.  And sadly, we also bid adieu to Design Team member Laurie Schmidt.  For the past several years, Laurie has been a major creative force on the team.  Her adorable cards, featuring fabulous die cuts, have lovingly earned her the title, "The Queen of Dies".  Although they will be missed, we definitely look forward to seeing all of them in the gallery. Join us for a special post tomorrow when we introduce our Guest Designers for 2023.  And now, for the winners of our final challenge of 2022! Before we get to my choice for Headliner, let's see what caught the eye of the Design Team this week:
