Hi everyone! What a fabulous use of the colors this week. So many amazing cards and you all used the colors in such creative ways. Thank you to all of you for playing along, we certainly enjoyed visiting with your fabulous creations. Now, without further ado, on to our worthy winners this week.
Nance's choice: Vicki B.
Oh, how I love sunflowers and what a wonderful bouquet of them Vicki created for us this week! Everything about Vicki’s card is harmonious and keeps the eye moving. The grouping of sunflowers and sentiment are perfectly balanced by the trio of leaves surrounding each element. The texture of the flowers is repeated in the background and the embossed stripes look like a lovely barn door. Even the trio of gold pearls repeats the element of three and accents the corner perfectly. All these elements combine into one gorgeous card…congratulations Vicki, you’re my choice for A Cut Above!
LeAnne's Choice - Erica Shaw
I was quite intrigued with Erica's fall wreath and when I realized she used the images from It's A Wrap Holidays, I was bowled over! How clever and creative! I love the embossed border as well as that yummy velveteen ribbon she used as an accent. A very unique card that shows a great way to think outside the box! Congratulations, Erica, on being my Cut Above!
Ann's Choice - Chris Smith
There was just something about Chris's card that kept drawing me back to drink in all of the fabulous details! Maybe it was the fact that she stamped her own background...or maybe it was the faint outline of the Medallion stamp. Whatever it was, this card mesmorized me! I love how she stamped and matted the sentiment. And the simple ribbon is the perfect accent! Congratulations, Chris, for being my choice for A Cut Above!
Tara's Choice - Joan Jeffery
These cute little dinosaurs are such an unexpected treat for the color challenge. I love how Joan created a children's card when all I had was Fall on the brain. Her coloring is wonderful giving the little dinos dimension and the spotlight. The sentiment is such a cute finishing touch for a roaringly great card. Congratulations, Joan for being my choice for A Cut Above this week! Lesley's Choice- Janet
Janet's card is so pretty. The clean lines and the simple stamping, allow the colours to be at play here. This is the perfect Fall scene, complete with falling leaves (stamped cleverly behind the main image) and one single gold leaf; embossed to shine! The cord ribbon and the single button make this sweet card a truly special creation! Congratulations Janet on being my choice for Cut Above this week!
Anne Marie's Choice: Marisa
Marisa's card has such a beautiful balance of the challenge colors, I just kept going back to it again and again. I just love how the textured background compliments the fabulous fall leaves so beautifully. The patterned paper just ties all the elements together perfectly, too. I especially like how the twine accents add to the fall theme. A gorgeous card, in every way. Congratulations Marisa, on being my choice for A Cut Above this week!
Cindy's Choice: Julie Gearinger
While most of the participants used this week's colors in a traditional way with a fall theme, Julie took the challenge to a higher level... she created a Christmas card! Wow! There's so much depth to her card with the embossing, both dry and heat, sponging on the frame, shimmer paint, big beautiful satin ribbon, and pearls. I love the layers and the layout. Well done, Julie, and congratulations! You're my choice for A Cut Above this week!Julie's Choice: Narelle Farrugia
Most of us went with a Fall theme this week as we created cards with the challenge colors. Narelle went in another direction and designed a card that could be used at any time of year. Bravo Burgundy was my favorite of the colors and Narelle put it front and center. I love the simplicity of this flower and the pop of color that it adds. Congratulations Narelle on being my choice for A Cut Above this week. I love how you took these bold colors and gave them a nice soft look.
And now, on to our very worthy Headliner:
Jaydee's Choice: Jen
I loved Jen's card. The repetition of circles and soft shapes provided the perfect backdrop to this fabulous cluster of leaves. The button and the twin helped to draw attention to the simple but heartfelt sentiment. Jen left a fair amount of white space around the focal image and it helped to frame and make it absolutely pop. A gorgeous card. Jen, congratulations on being our HEADLINER this week.
