Challenge #85 Winners - Jaydee's Theme Challenge

Hi Everyone.  Jaydee here.  WOW!!!!  Such a great turnout again this week and you really did make our  job very difficult.  Thank you to all of you for playing along with us.

Without further ado, here are our winners.

Our picks for A Cut Above

Ann's ChoiceJulie Gearinger

Nobody does bows better than Julie Gearinger, and the gorgeous Chocolate Chip bow gracing this card is no exception.  Rolled flowers draw the eye to the sentiment and its stamped background oval.  And what could be better than a sprinkling of pearls on the scalloped border and in the centers of the flowers?  Your card is a beautiful sympathy card which will bring comfort to any one who receives it.  Congratulations on being my selection for A Cut Above!

Lesley's Choice
Jenny Engelke of The Giddy Stamper

I chose Jenny's sweet card for so many reasons! First of all, I love the simple, embossed dots on the background and the tree is so cute, with all the growing leaves.  The bit of twine on the tire swing and the cute yellow flowers, made with the wee floral punch, really add to this adorable card!! I also think the grass is cleverly added and the bit of stitching combined with the gingham ribbon creates a homespun feel. Yes, "Life is GOOD" in the Spring!! Congratulations Jenny on being my choice for a Cut Above this week at the Paper Players.

LeAnne's Choice:

Where do I begin to describe what I love about Rach's card?  The colors?  The dreamy image?  The sentiment?  The yummy textured paper in the background?  All of these things combined make a lovely creation that fills my senses with all the smells and sensations of fresh spring air!  There were many wonderful choices this week, but the calm simplicity of this card kept me coming back again and again!  Congratulations, Rach, on being my Cut Above this week!

Sherry's Choice:
Lisa Johansen of Snowy Moose Creations

I chose Lisa's card because I fell in love with that beautiful tree on the front with the tire swing hanging from it. Reminded me of the tree at my Grandparent's house when I was a kid. I love the soft green paper and that beautiful ribbon. Thanks Lisa for being my Cut Above this week at the Paper Players!

Nance’s choice: Vicky Hayes

Absolutely stunning, describes Vicky’s gorgeous basket of springtime crocuses.    Her lovely vellum crocus blooms are perhaps the most clever punch art flowers I have ever seen and the extra blades of grass give such dimension to the bouquet.   The embossed basket, the mixed font sentiment and the little pop of a yellow bird all add up to one beautiful creation.  Congratulations Vicky, you’re my choice for A Cut Above

Jenn's Choice: Cynthia Stevenson

The beauty of Cynthia's card struck me immediately. Her attention to detail is amazing; from the perfectly masked flowers to the intrically cut out butterfly. The colour combo itself just speaks of Spring and I love how the elements of this very clean layout are layered to add interest and dimension, while still letting the floral images really stand out. Congratulations Cynthia on being my Cut Above this week!

Heidi's Choice: Erica Cerwin
Wow! So many amazing cards to choose from this week! I chose Erica's springtime beauty as I was drawn to the bold bright Melon Mambo flowers (my favorite color right now). The smaller flowers which filled in the white space perfectly gave the card that extra pop of green and I love the addition of the pink rhinestones in each flower center. The unconventional edge of the card and big bow added the perfect finishing touches. And, finally the extra bonus of the packet of seeds on the inside of the card really screamed SPRING to me! Congrats to you, Erica, for being my Cut Above this week!

Anne Marie's Choice: Danielle Vincent

Nothing really says spring like a bunch of fresh tulips and Danielle's card has one beautiful bouquet to welcome in the season. I really love how she used a punched bird wing to create these beautiful blooms. The soft color combo and the sweet scalloped trim are all such beautiful touches on this lovely card, too. Congratulations to you, Danielle, on being my choice for A Cut Above this week!

And now for our HEADLINER........

Jaydee's Choice:  Kathy

Kathy's card is not only beautifully composed, but it stirred up so many fabulous memories of spring for me.  The vintage wallpaper, the pink blossoms on the tree, the little girl in the swing....really took me back to my childhood and it's wonderful when a card does that. The bow in the center of the card was unexpected, but broke up the color of the wallpaper and was the perfect complement to the image.  Her sentiment, placed just at the bottom of the window, is in perfect proportion to the image and does not distract the eye from it. I always found my eye resting on that little girl in the window and my mind wandering to my childhood.  A gorgeous card.   Kathy, congratulations on being our HEADLINER this week.
Now, don't forget to come back and play with us again tomorrow.  The fabulous Lesley has a color treat in store for you.
