Winners for Challenge #90:LeAnne's Color Challenge

Hey, everybody!  LeAnne here!  I know I say this each time I am a hostess, but really---you guys ROCKED my colors this past week.  It really hurts to have to just choose one Headliner because there were several that really appealed to me! Thanks so much for your participation!  But before we get to the Headliner, let's check out who the Design Team selected for their Cut Aboves for this week's challenge.

Our picks for A Cut Above

Ann's Choice: Julie Gearinger
Stamping with Julie Gearinger

All tied up with a gorgeous double bow, Julie's card is a gift to us indeed!  Beautiful texture serves as a backdrop, causing our eye to focus automatically on the unique image panel.  I love how she masked off the area and sponged it with Pool Party, then stamped the images in Not Quite Navy! Julie, you have created a clean and classic beauty! Congratulations on being my choice for A Cut Above!

Nance’s choice: Julie Hoffman
Chevrons are hot, hot, hot right now!  They’re everywhere from blogland to your neighborhood big box store and I love them!  Not only is Julie’s fabulous card on-trend but it is fresh and clean and anything but simple!  Do you know that Julie made her own chevrons?  She scored paper and cut each one of those babies out!  Be sure to check out her blog for all the details!  What a great way to feature LeAnne’s gorgeous colors.  For clever craftiness, superb use of colors and diligence above and beyond…congratulations, Julie, you’re my choice for A Cut Above!

Jaydee's Choice: Susan
Cat's Ink Corporated

I immediately fell in love with Susan's serene Mother's day card.  The birds have just started nesting in our garden and this beautiful card just felt so appropriate for the season, but also the subject.  What a fabulous image of a mother bringing food to her nest to represent Mother's day.  A gorgeous card that "ink corporated" :-) the colors so beautifully.   Susan, congratulations on being my Cut Above this week.

Anne Marie's Choice: Erna Logtenberg
Elog Cards
The sentiment on that colorful banner says it all! Erna's beautiful birthday card is just plain HAPPY, all around! I really like all of the terrific texture and dimension from the embossing, the ribbon and the popped up banner with all of the fabby details. I especially like the break in the background embossing where the "birthday" sentiment was repeatedly stamped. This card is "banner-tastic" and so full of fun! Congratulations to you, Erna, on being my pick for a Cut Above this week!

Jenn's Choice: Erica Cerwin
Pennants/banners/flags are all the rage right now in paper crafting and Erica showcased them perfectly with this fabulous card! I love the mix of patterns that she used and those clever sheets of paper scrolling out of the offset vintage typewriter are blilliant!  Wrapping it all up with that fantastic taffeta bow makes this card a real stand out. Congratulations Erica on being my Cut Above this week!

Heidi's Choice: Cindy
Pretty Impact

Thanks, LeAnne, for such great colors this week and I loved looking at all of the ways each of you created cards to showcase them...so many different styles!! As for my choice this week, my eyes just kept being drawn back to Cindy's card. I am a sucker for a polka dot embossed background and lots of white space, so Cindy's card really stood out to me from the get-go. The oval designer frame showcasing the "hello" sentiment is beautifully striking! Even with lots of white space it still pops off the card! Each of the colors complemented each other so nicely and none of them overpowered the other. I just love how the ribbon is threaded through the lace border and it is perfectly finished off with a bow. I think my most favorite part of the card is the single flower and how it is made up with just two colors with the brad in the middle and I didn't miss that little touch of curling up each of the petals. Just an all around gorgeous card! Cindy, congratulations to you for being A Cut Above this week!

Shirley's Choice: Joan
J J Creations
I have to start off by thanking Leanne for the fun challenge! I have never used those colors together and I had not used Certainly Celery in at least a year. So Kudos to Leanne!!! Joan's card has fabulously clean crisp lines with perfect balance. My eye just goes to those cute little foot prints that just make me happy. I love that she stamped the sentiment on pool party paper and topped it all off with the cute Baby-licious bow! Congratulations, Joan, for being "A Cut Above" this week!!

Lesley's Choice: Jennifer Timko
I just adored Jennifer's fresh and simple take on the colours this week. The small boat is perfectly constructed with some sweet designer paper in the sails and the little strip of twine around the boat base is adorable! Great texture! The flagged sentiment adds to the adorableness of this card! Congrats Jennifer on being my choice for A Cut Above this week.

And now for our HEADLINER...
LeAnne's Choice:  Paula
I just loved this funky little fishy, as my wee granddaughter calls them! I am sure that it must be a girl fish, since she is so beautifully colored!  Paula used Lesley's Freshly Made Sketch this week, which was perfect for her image, and the way she incorporated the polka dots into each element tied it all together nicely!  Congratulations, Paula, on being my Headliner this week!

Thank you again to everyone who joined us here at the Paper Players! Be sure to hop on over tomorrow to see what that crafty Jaydee has up her sleeve!
Have a great day!
