PP408 Challenge Winners

Well, it seems some of you were initially put off by my theme this week, yet those of you that entered certainly rose to the challenge and I am delighted that there will be many loved ones, young and old, opening their lunches to find a surprise note with words of love and encouragement to brighten their day as a result - bravo to you all!

Before we get to my choice for Headliner, let's see what caught the eye of the Design Team this week.

The notecard that Cindy entered for this week's challenge was just one of a fun collection, each of them brightly coloured, simple designs yet packed with techniques and detail. Made with love, they really are miniature works of art - congratulations Cindy on being my headliner this week!

PP408 - A Theme Challenge from Joanne

Hi everyone - Joanne here with this week's new challenge! Firstly, thanks to everyone who played along with Jaydee's sketch challenge last week - I love a good sketch and it seems many of you do too, judging by the wonderful selection of projects in the gallery. 

This week is theme challenge week so I have something fun for you! 

It's back to school week here in the UK and this has got me thinking about little notes to leave my little ones to be discovered during the school day. Whilst I know that across the pond the return to school was a couple of weeks ago now, any time is a good time to leave a little note for someone with a word of encouragement or to let them know you are thinking of them - and you don't have to stop at children either. Make a little note for your partner, neighbour or anyone that you think would be touched by a surprise note to brighten their day. 

Before we get to the Design Team's cards, it is my pleasure to be welcoming back the fabulous Ann Schach to the Design Team once more following an extended break. Welcome back Ann - we are thrilled you are on board once more!

PP407 Challenge Winners

What a wonderful array of cards in the gallery this week.  We loved how each of you 

interpreted the sketch.  We had everything from gorgeous CAS to multi-layered 

wonders and we enjoyed visiting each and every one of them.

We really do appreciate all of you who played along with us - especially those of you 

who play with us regularly :-)    

Before we get to my choice for Headliner, let's see what caught the eye of the 

Design Team this week.  

And the Design Team selections for A Cut Above are....

1. LeAnne's Choice: Colleen's gorgeous vintage trees caught my eye immediately! Congrats, Colleen!	2. Claire's Choice: Jan's spooky owl & embossed trees are amazing! BRAVO!	3. Joanne's Choice: Windy's dressed sentiment and border really make the most of this fabulous paper.	4. Sandy: I love Donna's gorgeous tropical leaves, and the sentiment embossed on black just pops!
5. Jan's choice: Lynn's pretty pastel leaves against the backdrop of horizontals are so striking. Fab!	6. Annie's Choice: Laurie's beautiful ombre background and sparkly snowflakes had me wishing for snow!	7. Elizabeth's Choice: I love the total CAS-ness of Lori's speech bubble! 3 simple blues pop perfectlv!	8. Anne Marie's Choice: Jenny's card is stunning! I love the fun colors and those sparkly details.
9. Laurie's choice:Jane's geometric card is awesome! I love the fun design.Congrats!

PJ's Projects

I fell in love with PJ's beautifully composed triptych.  The red lighthouse works so 

beautifully with the red base and the pop of black from birds nestled in their sandy spot 

brings your eye down to the fabulous sentiment.  A gorgeous card and I am sure that her 

hubby will have appreciated this wonderful homage.  Congratulations PJ on being my 

HEADLINER this week.

There were so many great cards in the gallery, but I kept coming back to Kim's vibrant veggies. She did a terrific job stamping the solid images, and though her card is loaded with color, she kept it clean with minimal layers and plenty of white space. The sentiment embossed on black adds some great contrast and is the perfect finishing touch. Congrats Kim, you are my headliner this week!

There is still time to play in Challenge #405: LeAnne's Colour Challenge And A Special Announcement!

As you will know if you read her blog post on Sunday, our wonderful team leader Nance Leedy has decided to take a back seat here at The Paper Players for a while, due to work and family commitments. Whilst Nance will still be very much involved with the day to day running of our challenge blog, including producing those fabulous badges you see each week, she will not be an active member of the Design Team for the foreseeable future, although she may well post a card from time to time. We will miss your weekly bursts of creativity Nance, however we are thankful that you will continue to be a part of our team (we couldn't manage without you!) and wish you well. 

Alongside Nance's news, we also have another two exciting announcements: firstly, we are delighted that one of our previous team members, the lovely Anne Marie Hile of www.stampinanne.com is rejoining The Paper Players from next week onwards. Welcome back Anne Marie! 

Furthermore, another of our original team members, Ann Schach, of The Stampin' Schach, which can be found at stampinchic.com will also be rejoining the ranks at the beginning of September. We are thrilled that you will both be rejoining our merry band and look forward to creating with you in the coming weeks and months.
