Hello everyone - Joanne here! Thank you to everyone who played along with Jaydee's sketch last week - her simple layout led to some really creative cards. This week we are all about team here at The Paper Players: the lovely Laurie was due to host but has unfortunately had to deal with a family bereavement and needed some time out so I am lending a helping hand. Laurie has done all the hard work and has designed a fun tic-tac-toe board to challenge us all as it's the fifth week of the month; I am picking up with the comments and visits to your blogs and get the honour of choosing this week's top pick. I love Christine's take on the sketch.  All of that wonderful ephemera comes together beautifully.   The wonderful die-cut drink, the glasses, the leaves, the book font DSP, the butterfly ... all make me think of a wonderful summer's day spent relaxing and reading.  I also love how she tied all those colors together.  The polka dot background just seems to be perfect.  So many wonderful things going on that I could stare at it for ages!  Congratulations, Christine on being my headliner this week

EK's card is CAS perfection!  When I saw all those little piggies sunbathing it made me LOL!  The brush strokes are just perfect to replicate a pool of water.  The coloring on the pigs and rafts is amazing and the  sentiment represents the challenge theme!  Congratulations EK, you are my headliner this week!

Martha's card incorporates all those classic motifs that for me constitute a traditional teacher thank you card: bright colours, the stars and notepaper, a rather punny sentiment and not just an apple, but a rather stylish polka dot apple - how fun! PP351 - A Theme Challenge from Joanne

Hi everyone - Joanne here with this week's theme challenge! Firstly, thanks to everyone who played along with Nance's sketch challenge last week - wasn't that sketch awesome? So many great interpretations of it too. Onto this week's theme: we are almost at the end of the academic year here in the UK and so it's the perfect time for teacher thank you cards. It's also the start of exam results season: everything from Common Entrance Exams, to the 11 Plus, and universities awarding graduate degrees, followed by next month's GCSE and A Level results. 

Since our challenge is an international one and all countries have these things happening at different times, I thought I would broaden this week's theme to encapsulate all of these things. So whether it's a thank you for your favourite teacher or a message of congratulations, we would love to see them all in the gallery this week.

Check out the fantastic designs, as always, that the Design Team has created to inspire you, including the contributions of our two new guest designers, Annie and Jan, who sit alongside Deanne as our guests for the next 6 months. I can't wait to see what you create!
