Paper Players Challenge #227 Winners: Ann's Color Challenge

Wow!  You certainly knocked our socks off with how you embraced this week's color challenge! It was amazing to see how each of you used Crisp Cantaloupe, Lost Lagoon, and Sahara Sand in such a variety of beautiful and creative ways. We definitely had a difficult task of narrowing down the winners.  Before we get to Ann's choice for Headliner, let's see what caught the eye of our design team:

Shawna's beautiful card caught my eye with its vibrant hues. The stunning bokeh background featured Lost Lagoon over a darker base color.  The tan embossed ferns add a touch of yummy texture.  Although she did not have Crisp Cantaloupe on hand, Shawna was able to blend Pumpkin Pie and Melon Mambo to color the roses. Congrats, Shawna, on being our Headliner this week!

Welcome to The Paper Players!  We loved seeing how you reused and repurposed items in Anne Marie's challenge last week.  Now we can't wait to see what you create for our first color challenge of the new year!  What a fresh trio of colors it is! Jan created a gorgeous card with SO many beautiful elements. I have to give her an extra-special shout-out for cutting into an old book for her background image. That would have been tough for me, as well. The background works perfectly with all of the elements on her card and the colors are so rich and elegant. So much gorgeous texture and dimension...just WOW! Congratulations to you, Jan! You are my pick for our Headliner this week! :)

Happy New Year, friends! Anne Marie here. Remember me? I am SO excited to be hosting our first challenge of 2015 here at The Paper Players. This is also the first challenge featuring our new Design Team Members: Claire, Joanne & Laurie AND our Guest Designers: Debbie, Karren & Shannon. We are SO excited to have these amazingly talented ladies join our team. Welcome! 

It's a New Year and time for a fresh start. This week, we have a fun Theme Challenge: "Everything Old is New Again". Here is how this challenge works...simply create a project using a recycled or repurposed item. Make sure to share what item(s) you used in your blog post (and check out the rules below). Exciting Changes at The Paper Players!

Greetings everyone!  The Design Team thought that you might need a little excitement here at The Paper Players to keep you coming back to our challenges in 2015.  We are thrilled to announce SIX fabulous new additions to our team.

First, please join us in welcoming 3 new Guest Designers to the team.  These creative gals will work with us through June, 2015 and we are so excited they agreed to join us.  We asked them to tell us a little bit about themselves:

Hello! I am so happy to be a Guest Designer for The Paper Players! I have been a Stampin' Up! demonstrator since 2011 and love classic, layered cards. I have lived in Grand Rapids, Michigan for 11 years and love this wonderful city! I am married to Aly, my wonderful husband and have 4 children, ages 35 to 17. Stamping is a wonderful way to transition to being an empty nester since my youngest daughter will be heading to college next year!

Hi!  My name is Karren Johnson and I'm so happy to be guest designing at The Paper Players for the next six months.  I live in Christchurch, New Zealand with my other half, Pete, our two sons Matt (17) and William (12) and our dog, Dexter.  I've been stamping for about 12 years now and my style has evolved over that time to the point where I feel most comfortable creating clean cards with lots of white space.  At the time of writing this, I am still enjoying a hiatus from working life but normally I work in the accounting/finance field.

Greetings! My name is Shannon Jaramillo. I have been a scrapbooker since 2001. I discovered card making in general and Stampin’ Up! in particular in 2010. I signed up as a demonstrator immediately and have never looked back!  I live in Southern California with my wonderful husband and have two fine grown sons living close by. I process payroll by day and play with paper by night. My style tends toward the clean and simple with a fair amount of white space.  I am SO excited and honored to have been invited to be a guest designer with The Paper Players for the next six months. I look forward to the challenge of designing along side this talented group of card makers! I can’t wait to get started!!

Oh my, Bhavana's beautiful card caught my eye right away.  Blue and green for the holidays make my heart sing and this vellum poinsettia is gorgeous!  The textured embossing and clean layout really let the beauty of the colored vellum pop.  This stunning card has a  a quiet elegance just perfect for the winter holidays.  Congratulations, Bhavana for being a stand-out at our Black Tie event...you're my choice for Headliner!

PP225: Black Tie Theme Challenge from Nance

Hello, friends, Nance here!  This week, we have a very special challenge for you.  Special because it honors a wonderful group of Guest Designers who are sharing their last project with us today.  Andrea, Claire, Joanne, Laurie ,Yapha and Mike (who had to leave in October) are creative, hard-working and among our very best Guest Designers.  We are so sad to see them go but thank them for making our team better over the last six months; it's been a pleasure.

So what do you do when you've got a special occasion?  You make it FANCY, of course!  Our Black Tie Theme challenge calls for Holiday Projects that are Fancy.  What is fancy?  Sparkle!  Shine!  Texture!  It's a project with a little something extra.  You know...the one that requires a litle extra postage!  Just remember, if it's fancy to you, it's fancy to us!  So, let's see how the Design Team dressed up fancy!

PP224 Winners - Jaydee's Tic Tac Toe Challenge

Hi everyone!  Well, there was an amazing display of fabulous cards in the gallery this week and you made it very hard for us to choose our winners.  We are so grateful that you play along with us each week and it's great to see so many return players :-) Before we get to the Headliner, let's see what caught the eye of our design team: Rach  lnrstamp I absolutely fell in love with the clean lines of Rach's card.  The touch of silver embossing and silver glimmer paper frame was stunning.  The pop of red over the green Season's Greetings was just the right touch.  This card is CAS perfection.  Congrats, Rach on being my Headliner this week. We hope that you will join us for our final challenge this week - and it's a beauty.  It's also our last challenge with our fabulous guest designers.  We hope you help us close out the year in style.
